Lions Park & Strathcona Island Park
Nestled along the South Saskatchewan River, both Lions Park and Strathcona Island Park in Medicine Hat, Alberta are beautiful natural areas. I recently took the opportunity to capture the golden foliage and stunning scenery along the river during a warm autumn afternoon.

Hiking Bear's Hump in Waterton Lakes
The scenic view of Waterton Lakes National Park from Bear's Hump is well worth your time if you're feeling energetic. The hike is only 1.4km long, however once you reach the halfway point there are a series of steep switchbacks in which you gain nearly 800 feet in elevation on your way to the top. Most should have no problem, and will find that the scenery is well worth the effort.
From the top of Bear's Hump you're rewarded with an incredible view of Waterton Lakes, the townsite, and the prairies to the east. You also get a great vantage of the Prince of Wales Hotel. I probably spent a good hour at the top admiring the view and snapping pictures. Half of the fun is just watching everyone snap their victory poses. I got a few good ones too!
