I explored the abandoned structure up close, and couldn't help but be captivated by all of the textures in the weathered wood and fading paint. These icons of the prairies are becoming a bit rarer each year, and that's a big part of why I've recently become so inspired to capture them.

Grain Elevator in Dorothy, Alberta
If you've ever driven the river valley from Drumheller towards East Coulee, than you've no doubt seen this abandoned wooden grain elevator next to the road in the ghost town of Dorothy, Alberta. The stark presence of the lone elevator next to the road, along with its obvious decay, is a photographer's playground.
