Hotel Max in Seattle, Washington
On our road trip south along the Pacific Coast, my friend Mike and I wanted to make the most of our time in each city by being right in the action. In Seattle, Washington we stayed at the trendy Hotel Max. Located right downtown we were walking distance to Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and tons of great attractions and restaurants.
I loved the style of this hotel. Rock memorabilia, pop art on the wall, and even large graphics on each of the hotel room doors. The side of the building featured a bold "Seattle Doesn't Settle" logo, which reminded me of the infamous "Keep Portland Weird" slogan in Portland, Oregon. Hotel Max was a bit pricey, but still competitive for downtown Seattle. All and all, it was a great place to call home for a couple of days and soak up that Pacific Northwest vibe.

Airport Art Wall in Medicine Hat, Alberta
After nearly two years since the project began, last week I had the pleasure of seeing my 12 panel art installation at the grand opening to the Medicine Hat Airport Terminal expansion. This permanent display is on the wall to the right of the departures entrance and is featured as a focal point at the end of the main concourse through the terminal. As you can imagine, I'm extremely proud to see my work become part of such a notable building in my hometown.
The 12 photographic panels feature close-ups in a circle and spokes theme that represent distinct Medicine Hat, Alberta locations and different modes of transportation. The images are printed on acrylic panels measuring 28x28", with the total installation at just over 3.5 metres tall. Below is a complete depiction of the 12 panels in the installation.
