Go Get Em Tiger in Los Angeles, California

go get em tiger los angeles coffee shopLocated in Los Angeles, California, Go Get Em Tiger is a cool little coffee shop in the historic and trendy Larchmont neighborhood. During my last Southern California road trip I had a meeting here, and it proved to be a great place to start my day before I went to do some exploring on Wilshire Blvd. I found everyone really friendly, and maybe it was the the coffee shop that attracted them or simply because I was in LA, but the people sat on either side of me were both in deep discussions about film projects they were working on. I felt right at home. These are a few of the shots I took of this beautiful space during my brief visit.

Exploring Downtown Honolulu, Hawaii: Part 1

From the harbor to landmarks along King Street, my family and I explored downtown Honolulu, Hawaii early into our trip. We started with some of the most popular attractions, touring the Iolani Palace, the Hawaii State Capitol Building, and the Hawaiian Mission Houses. Each place offered a different look at the unique history and architecture present here.

Overlooking the harbor, we got glimpses of the skyline and the Falls of Clyde, a historic ship that's currently under restoration. These were interesting little pit stops we took on our self-guided walking tour that were completely free to experience.

I was blown away seeing tropical fish swimming in the harbor in the heart of Honolulu. Even in a busy harbor the water was still so clear and blue! We went on to take pictures of the famous statue of King Kamehameha in front of the historic Aliiolani Hale, and then stopped at the Kawaiahao Church, a building built out of coral in the 1840s. I wrapped up our walk by snapping a few shots of the marquee out front of the Hawaii Theatre. Then it was back to Waikiki.

On the Road to Shambhala

Just over a week ago I found myself at the incredible Shambhala Music Festival near Nelson, British Columbia. Partnering with my friend Brandie, MHZINE and Editing Luke acquired media passes to the festival to document the experience and to create some amazing content. The stunning 8 hour drive from Medicine Hat, Alberta lead us through the Kootenays in Southern B.C. and proved to be another highlight of the weekend.

I've just begun the lengthy editing process by going through the thousands of Shambhala images I shot. I have also shared a handful of my shots on Instagram and have been blown away seeing a lot of it trending under the #shambhala and #shambhala2015 hashtags (especially during the festival). It has me really excited about the content I'm building, and viewers can expect multiple posts / photo journals dedicated entirely to this unique electronic music festival in the British Columbia wilderness. Here are a few previews from my Instagram feed and few gems that we passed on the way to Shambhala - including this cool barn / antique shop in Yahk, BC.
