Driving the Columbia River Gorge
Next to driving up the coast, the Columbia River Gorge has to be one of the most scenic drives I've done. With the Columbia River boarding the interstate, the cliffs and bridges adding character, and the twists and turns in the road keeping the drive exciting, there's not much left to be desired on a long road trip. Mike and I even recreated a moment that I shared with my friend Dave on one of our trips. We rolled down all the windows, opened the sunroof, and blasted tracks from Vega4 as we cruised through the Gorge. It was further proof that the drive can be half the fun sometimes.

Oceanside Beach, Oregon
One of the best parts of a road trip is being able to watch the scenery change directly in front of you. After hours of driving through prairies and mountains, it was quite an awe-inspiring moment when we finally reached the Pacific Ocean. We were on our way to Cape Meares, but seeing as this was our first time to the ocean on this trip (and Mike's first time to the ocean ever) we took our sweet time wandering around the beach. It was a stunningly beautiful location.

Market Pumpkin Patch
My Halloween traditions have been pretty tame the last few years, but like usual I went in search of a giant pumpkin purely for roasting the seeds. I bought myself a modest 21 pound pumpkin, put the seeds in the oven, and did a little carving to pass the time. I didn't get as many seeds as I'd hoped for unfortunately, but the process did make for a few nice collages at least.
