Built in the mid-1700s, the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, Texas is recognized for being one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States. The structure marks the geographical center of San Antonio, and is also noteworthy because the heroes of the Alamo, Davy Crockett, William B. Travis, and Jim Bowie are entombed here.
Constructed in 1718, the Alamo Mission (or simply, The Alamo) began its life as a Spanish mission before becoming a place of legend after it was besieged in the Battle of the Alamo in 1836.
Located in San Antonio, Texas the iconic chapel is known as the "Shrine of Texas Liberty". The Alamo has long since become a popular museum with this Texas landmark (and the other nearby San Antonio missions) being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.
