The original Palliser Hotel was 8 stories tall, but an additional 3 stories were added in 1929. As such, the Palliser Hotel was the tallest building in Calgary, Alberta until 1958. The hotel and city itself have obviously changed dramatically in the last century, but the Palliser has stood the test of time and has remained one of Calgary's most luxurious and historic hotels.
