Beach Club Resort on Vancouver Island

After several days of road tripping and exploring the southern end of Vancouver Island, I headed north through Nanaimo and to the Beach Club Resort in Parksville, British Columbia. I couldn't have imagined a better spot to soak up the stunning beach and ocean views to recoup from my ongoing Pacific Northwest adventures for the night.

I've stayed in some pretty amazing hotels on my travels, but it's not often that I've had so much space in such a premium location. From the separate bedroom and full kitchen, to the fireplace in the living room, the private patio, and the two bathrooms, to say I had room to stretch out would be an understatement. To my surprise, I was also able to clean a couple pairs of muddy jeans and wet socks because there was a full washer and dryer in the room as well. I was impressed.

What ultimately made the experience was the view. After walking the beach and getting a few shots of the mountains, I caught up on messages that night and watched the sun go down. The panoramic views through the windows were like paintings, and the setting couldn't have been more peaceful. Topped off with some Okanagon wine that I'd been gifted and some leftover Nanaimo bars that I'd picked up along the way, I was pretty much in west coast heaven. 

Take it from this travel photographer, the Beach Club Resort is worth stopping for.
