Exploring Downtown Calgary, Alberta

As one of the largest cities in Canada, the downtown core of Calgary, Alberta offers a lot in terms of distinctive and original places to explore. From the iconic Calgary Tower to a skyline featuring some of the tallest buildings outside of Toronto, Calgary is a beautiful and bustling community with a downtown that always has me seeing something new.

From modern architectural marvels to classic sandstone structures, there's a fascinating mix of old and new here (see my archival ghosting images for more examples). In many ways Calgary is still discovering its identity, which lends itself to bold design choices, large public art displays, and change - lots of change. I set out to capture some of Calgary's evolving character in this series of downtown images. More to come in Part 2 and Part 3.
