I continued my road trip through Joshua Tree National Park this summer in California. It wasn't that I really needed more pictures, it just seemed like a great backdrop to break in the Jaguar I'd rented for the road trip. I always see something new when I'm back in Joshua Tree. Perhaps it's that the desert landscape is still a novelty for this Canadian. In any case, it was a blast as usual. It made for some great additions to my Roadside California series.
A love the architecture of Palm Springs, California. Many of the mid-century modern structures have been preserved and revitalized here, giving this desert community a distinct look that showcases the optimism and imagination of the 1950's and 1960's.
This collection features some of the shots I took between photographing other notable mid-century modern structures and architecture around Palm Springs, including the Palm Springs City Hall, Ace Hotel, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Movie Colony Hotel, 7 Springs Inn, and the Tramway Gas Station.
