Salton Sea in 2009
Before the North Shore Yacht Club had been renovated and reopened in 2010, my friend Dave and I explored the abandoned site in August of 2009. Here are a few pictures I snapped of the Salton Sea and the North Shore from our brief stay in California.

As depressing as it is, I like the Salton Sea. There's something about its history and the death surrounding it that gives it some weird appeal. Speaking of the Salton Sea, have you seen the 2002 movie of the same title?
I agree, Wendy I'm really interested in this place too. No I haven't seen that movie, was it any good? I recently saw a trailer for a documentary about Bombay Beach though, I posted pictures from that location a while ago too. It looked pretty cool, I think it was called Bombay Beach.
I haven't watched it just yet but plan to soon and I'll let you know how it is. Something you and I have in common is we both visited these areas with Dave and so they will always hold special meaning to us. I always love seeing what you post about the trips you guys took together because it allows me to reminisce as well.
I think I saw something recently about Bombay Beach too, now that you mention it.
