Of all the communities that we visited on our road trip of the Pacific coast, Eureka is certainly one that I could've spent a lot more time in. In addition to exploring the nearby Redwoods, we checked out Eureka's waterfront, found a cool used bookstore, and grabbed morning coffee before we had to get back on the road. Next stop: the Point Arena Lighthouse.

Exploring Historic Eureka, California
In a community where the Redwood is king, Eureka, California is home to some incredible structures. From the impressive Eureka Inn to the ornate Carson Mansion, downtown Eureka still has much of its original 19th century commercial core intact.
