Last week I took a private tour of the facility to capture the stunning details of this 700 seat theatre. I also explored the fly tower and rigging 80 ft. above the stage - more on that to come. One can't mention the Esplanade without noting the controversy that surrounded its construction. However, the more that I've been here, the more I've grown to appreciate what a truly beautiful, modern and world-class theatre it really is. Medicine Hat is privileged to have this cultural landmark in our downtown.

Esplanade Interior: Main Theatre
The Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre was constructed in 2005 as one of Alberta's Centennial Legacy Projects. Most notably, it houses Medicine Hat's preeminent theatre, which has hosted everything from concerts and comedians to musicals and ballet.
